Greek tattoos

Posted on February 22, 2011 in Uncategorized by bodyart

Medusa tattoos are just another example for Greek tattoos popularity. I don’t know why but Greek tattoos are really living their second (or perhaps 58th, considering the age of Greek art) youth ;) . People make Greek tattoos based on mythology, such as mentioned below medusa tattoos or minotaur inks. Others make Greek tattoos referring to Greek history or philosophy. Anyway Greek tattoos live their renaissance nowadays and personally I find this to be really cool. Finally all these simple tribal inks are less popular and people start to choose some more deep and meaningful tattoos.

Medusa tattoos

Today I saw another guy with a medusa tattoo, making up the sum of total 3 medusa tattoos I saw myself since last February. I started to search for the medusa tattoos meaning today to see why do people get so many of them? It came up that medusa tattoos symbolize femme fatalle, the bad woman who leads men to temptation and then kills them. This is really interesting, especially considering that one of these 3 medusa tattoos were owned by a woman. She obviously wanted to manifest something by getting such a tattoo ;) . To be honest, I’d gladly be tempted by her (even if she’d be cruel for me afterwards) ;) .

Anyway medusa tattoos can be really cool – just check out that:

Biomechanical tattoo

Biomechanical tattoo is a style that inspires me the most!  Many of biomechanical tattoo arts are a bit shocking and sometimes even disgraceful, but still, they are really creative art pieces. I’ve found several biomechanical tattoo photos to show you how can a biomechanical tattoo look like. Check out the styles these tattoos represent:

Just to finish the back tattoo topic, I got this great back tattoo photo as an example of evolving back tattoo style school. I hope you can see the difference between this and the traditional bodysuit tattoo ;) .

Back tattoos

Back tattoos are recently very popular and personally I find back to be a great place for a tattoo. Obviously every tattooist will like to tattoo back, since there is a lot of space back there ;) . Nonetheless back tattoos recently started to evolve and we all witnessed something special in the tattoo world. First, there were Japanese bodysuits, that covered whole back, front and arms, then we got those bodysuits evolved onto whole-back tattoos and now back tattoos started to flirt with new school and various oriental tattoo schools.

I sincerely hope that I will have a chance to make a lot of back tattoos in my career. I have some ideas on how to create something that has not yet been implemented in the tattoo art yet and is specifically attached to the back tattoo form.

I managed to get 2 Goethe tattoo photos for you and I hope this will show you the specifics of his style. Both tattoos are classicaly (as for Goethe) shaded and base on precolumbian tribalic/oriental tattoo school.

Goethe from Mexico

Goethe is a tattoo artist from Pomona, famous across the world. He managed to create his own, specific tattoo style, basing on precolumbian oriental tattoos done only with use of black ink in shading technique. The tattoos he makes are artpieces famous around the world.

He was once asked why has he chosen to break the traditional precolumbian tattoo style rule, that a color adds an importance to a tattoo and thus makes it more attractive. He said, that he wanted to show the darkness of that time and that he finds it to be more artistic. As for me – this is what every professional tattooist should do. Create your own style basing on a specific tattoo school.

Goethe – add me to your enhusiasts list please ;) .

Tattoo Body Art studies

Posted on October 6, 2010 in Uncategorized by bodyart  Tagged , ,

Since I’ve signed up for tattoo studies, which will allow me to become a professional tattooist, I decided to create and edublog, to share my experiences. Today we had first lectures and this was almost 100% of theory. This will continue for several days, until we’ll be able to get our first touch on tattooing machines and try it on pork skin ;) . Sounds funny, but I’m really excited. Tattoos were always my passion and I sincerely hope I’ll be able to improve my skills and in 5-10 years become an internationally recognized tattooist, with his own tattoo school specialization. The funny thing is that I do not have a single tattoo of my own (i’m the only person in my tattoo academy who hasn’t got one yet). I’ll probably get one of the teachers to do a tattoo for me as an instruction on one of the lectures. Hopefully it’ll be one of my first tattoos :) .
